Indians have mixed results in the 5th Round of the Commonwealth Chess Championship and South African Open being played at Emperors Palace in Johannesburg, South Africa. Grandmaster Abhijit Kunte and IMs Sahej Grover and Eesha Karwade easily won their games while S Meenakshi, Prathmesh Mokal and Ivana Furtado were not so lucky with their games and lost . WGM S Meenakshi went down to 3rd seed GM Jones Gwawain . WGM Swati Ghate played a good game but in the end agreed for a draw against a much higher rated GM Pablo Lafuente . After 5 rounds The championship is now jointly led by Top Seed Nigel Short, IM Sahej Grover , GM Jones Gawain, Nat Nicholas and Providence. Sahej Grover will meet Nigel Short in the 6th Round
