With a key final round victory on the first board, the World Junior Champion GM Abhijeet Gupta won the 2011 edition of Dubai Chess Open. 2nd to 5th place were shared by GM Parimarjan Negi, GM Csaba Balogh, GM Murtas Kazhgaleyev, and GM Jon Ludvig Hammer.
